On 17 March 2025, the Information Regulator issued a notice inviting all public and private bodies to submit their PAIA Annual Reports for the 2024/25 financial year (01 April 2024 – 31 March 2025). The submission process opened on 01 April 2025. The final due date is 30 June 2025, and no extensions will be granted. Organisations are strongly advised not to wait until the final days of submission to avoid potential technical issues.
Purpose of the PAIA Annual Report Submission
The objective of the report is to determine whether public and private bodies are receiving and recording requests for access to information. The data submitted will help provide an overview of the level of compliance with PAIA and its implementation.
Bodies are also required to indicate whether:
This information enables the Regulator to assess the extent to which the public is making use of PAIA in exercising their right of access to information.
Even if your organisation has not received any requests for access to information during the reporting period, the submission must still be completed. In such cases, you must indicate zero (0) requests in the relevant sections of the report.
How to Submit
To support seamless compliance with PAIA, the Information Regulator has developed an online submission platform for PAIA Annual Reports. Organisations may submit their reports through one of the following platforms:
1. Regulator’s eServices Portal
Access the portal directly at: https://eservices.inforegulator.org.za
Alternatively, navigate via the Regulator’s website: https://inforegulator.org.za
2. BizPortal (for Private Bodies)
As part of a new partnership between the Regulator and the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), private bodies may also submit their PAIA Annual Reports through the CIPC’s BizPortal:
Step-by-step guides on how to submit the Annual Reports are available on both the eServices and BIzPortal platforms for your convenience.
